Product Introduction

High-reliability steel shot developed for demanding shot peening applications and precision manufacturing.

S660 / S780 ST Series Steel Shot are extra-large secondary quenched steel shot abrasives developed for powerful shot blasting and extra-heavy-duty surface preparation. These high-end ST steel shot sizes provide maximum impact force for large, thick and heavily contaminated workpieces, helping remove severe rust, thick oxide scale, heavy sand residues and strong surface contamination. Thanks to the double quenching process, S660 and S780 ST Series Steel Shot offer enhanced toughness, better impact resistance, lower breakage and more stable blasting performance than ordinary large-size steel shot. They are mainly used for heavy castings, large steel structures, thick steel plates, shipbuilding parts, mining equipment, heavy machinery components and anti-corrosion coating preparation.

Manufacturing Process

ST Series Steel Shot is produced through a controlled manufacturing process, including raw material inspection, medium-frequency melting, chemical composition testing, centrifugal atomizing, drying, sizing, cleaning, shape selection, secondary quenching, tempering, fine screening and packaging.

The key difference of ST Series Steel Shot is the secondary quenching process. After the molten steel is atomized into spherical particles and screened, the steel shot is not directly finished like ordinary steel shot. Instead, it goes through an additional quenching treatment to further improve its internal structure, hardness stability and impact resistance.

Through this double quenching process, ST Series Steel Shot achieves better toughness, more uniform hardness and lower breakage during repeated blasting cycles. After secondary quenching, the steel shot is tempered to reduce internal stress and improve durability, helping the abrasive maintain stable performance in continuous shot blasting operations.

Finally, the product is precisely screened and packed after strict quality inspection. This process allows ST Series Steel Shot to provide lower dust generation, longer service life, stable blasting performance and more consistent surface cleaning results compared with ordinary steel shot.

Advantages

1. Maximum Impact for Extra-Heavy-Duty Blasting

S660 and S780 ST Series Steel Shot are extra-large secondary quenched steel shot grades designed for powerful surface cleaning. They provide very strong impact force for large, thick and heavily contaminated workpieces.

2. Designed for Severe Rust, Thick Scale and Heavy Sand Residues

These sizes are suitable for demanding blasting applications where ordinary smaller steel shot may not provide enough cleaning power. S660 and S780 help remove severe rust, thick oxide scale, heavy sand residues and strong surface contamination efficiently.

3. Enhanced Toughness Under High-Impact Conditions

The secondary quenching process improves toughness and impact resistance, helping the steel shot maintain better durability during aggressive blasting. This reduces excessive fragmentation, dust generation and unstable cleaning results.

4. Reliable Performance for Heavy Industrial Production

S660 and S780 ST Series Steel Shot are suitable for heavy castings, large steel structures, thick steel plates, shipbuilding parts, mining equipment and heavy machinery components. Their stable performance helps improve cleaning efficiency, reduce downtime and support consistent surface preparation before anti-corrosion coating.
